Today was weird. Our weather was supposed to be up to 90°F. It apparently did get above that, followed up by a random thunderstorm and severe weather warning. Once the storm had passed, the temperature dropped down into the 70’s. It was time to seize my moment (bonus points if you get the reference)! I jumped up and started cleaning and organizing the back patio.
We had it really nice last year and used to spend a lot of time out there in the evenings. Then my old dog stopped being able to make it down the stairs due to blindness and arthritis. I had to make the patio his bathroom area, using grass patches and trays. Ultimately, we didn’t want to hang out there anymore. It was worth it though. I would have done anything for that dog. He was my heart and soul. We grew up together.
Anyways, he’s gone now. It was time to clean off the patio and take it back. I did not take a “before” photo. I have one from our security camera but it does not show the entire patio unfortunately. It does give you an idea of what we were dealing with. On a side note, please don’t mind the yard… Or lack of one. That is a work in progress. We are working on killing off the weeds and getting that tree removed. The hope is to landscape next year.

It took me a little under an hour and a half to complete. My kid was watching me from inside, begging to come outside. I made her wait though. I don’t want her going out there till tomorrow. Let everything dry off. I was pretty happy with the result though.

So that was my big project of the day. I thought I would have to put it off till tomorrow because it is supposed to be slightly cooler. But now I can work on my other project, my dining room. It desperately needs to be cleaned up. I have some dead plants to take care of. It’s a sad state indeed. I do not think I will take any before photos of it. It’s quite embarrassing.
Today’s featured photo is of my dog that has since passed, before he went blind. He was such a sweetheart. I miss him everyday. I love so much.
