Farm Adventures and an Early Thanksgiving

Yesterday and today, I couldn’t resist stocking up on more supplies to craft new earrings—it’s just too much fun! I was chatting with a friend about it. I decided in that conversation, I would start wearing earrings all the time. Now, I’m diving deeper into research on different techniques and exploring new ways to personalize my designs. The creative possibilities are endless!

Beyond crafting, we’ve been soaking up time on the farm. Daisy absolutely loves it here. Her favorite part is feeding the animals. She’s also come up with a game where I transform into a dinosaur, and she “cooks” me one of her favorite foods. I’ll admit, the game wears on me after a while, but seeing her joy makes it difficult to stop. She plays the role of a trainer and affectionately calls me “Dinosaur-saur.” It’s adorable and totally worth it.

Today we celebrated Thanksgiving. This is the last time I will see my mom for the next couple of months, so we had to work a holiday celebration for the trip. It was delicious, although we were missing turkey. Apparently, no one sells turkey breast anymore, and there was no way we were going to cook a full turkey for two and a half people. We did have some fantastic homemade butter to go in the mashed potatoes, though, so that was super awesome!

Unfortunately, we only have one day left before the drive back home, and I’m not exactly looking forward to that. It’ll be back to work soon. Thankfully, I’ll have all my trades out of the way, so I can focus on my regular shifts and days off—except for the extra overtime I agreed to.

On a different note, I picked up more peanuts for my feeders back home. I’m thinking of giving the suet feeder a rest for now and focusing on the peanut feeder to hopefully bring the Blue Jays back. Lately, their visits have been pretty sporadic, and I miss seeing them regularly. We’ll see if it works.

Anyway, here are some of my latest earring creations! Hope you enjoy (the astronauts are my favorite)!
