The backyard clean-up didn’t happen today. The crew was delayed by a previous job, and just as they arrived, they were immediately dive-bombed by wasps. Apparently, the little jerks (the wasps, not the yard guys) decided today was the perfect time to wake up.
After a quick inspection of both the front and back yards, the crew found three separate nests. They offered to take care of them but warned it would come with a hefty upcharge since the wasps were fully awake and ready for battle. Instead, they recommended we wait until after sunset to take them out ourselves—when the wasps would (hopefully) pass in their sleep.
So, I’m off to work while my husband takes on the wasp extermination mission. I won’t see the aftermath until I get home at 2 a.m., but I’m already dreading the possibility of more nests lurking in unknown locations.
Operation: Backyard Cleanup has been moved to tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed it actually happens this time.
