What’s the oldest thing you own that you still use daily?
I have a faded red carabiner that I’ve had on my keychain since I was 16 years old. Every time I’ve gotten a new car, I switch it over to the new key, remembering what it felt like putting together my first keychain for my first car. A ‘95 Camry my dad gave me. I felt so empowered and free. It was the biggest step I had taken towards adulthood. I love that car still and this part of my keychain feels like a piece of that car.
The carabiner is super useful when I don’t want to carry a purse. I’m shocked it’s still functional considering it’s not one that was meant for actual climbing. Every other one I’ve owned usually falls apart. But not this one. 20+ years and it’s still hangin’ on. I have plenty of other old things laying around but nothing I use so frequently.
Side note, I struggled with this prompt. I could think of so many joke responses. Ultimately I decided I better take it seriously so the Karen’s would stay clear.
