Another Weekend of Projects and Working.

This weekend was productive.

Yesterday I was on call at work. Of course I got called in because why would people want to work through the entire holiday weekend? I was frustrated because the person that paged me to work kept going back and forth. At first I had to go in. Then I didn’t, they were able to move people around to make sure there was coverage. Then 30 minutes later another person called out and I was going to be needed for en entire 12 hour shift.

As I was getting ready for this shift, and about to leave, another supervisor called me to inform me that they would only need me for 4 hours, 22:00-0200. I was so thankful. I was able to get more sleep, and see my kid before bedtime. Then I came home and got some good sleep. It was great! Plus overtime.

Today, I woke up around 11:30 am. That gave me an entire 7 hours of sleep! Winning! That is by far the most amount for the entire week. I felt great today! Then I began the cleaning.

My husband agreed to stay home from playing paintball so I could work on the basement again. He stayed upstairs and hung out with our kid while tore apart the basement. I moved furniture and vacuumed underneath. Cleaned out drawers. Basically got everything up off the floor.

I also realized that with my dog passing away, we didn’t need the extra kennel space underneath the stairs. So I took up the carpet tiles I put in there a few years back, and used a TON of Goo Gone to scrape off the left over glue. Then I was able to store all of my luggage and travel gear in the closet. Then I reinstalled the closet door (we took it off when we used the space as a kennel). Don’t get me wrong, I would rather still have my dog with me, but since he’s gone, it is nice to have all of my family’s luggage stored instead of sitting in a corner of my bedroom. I actually have enough space, I could put a desk in the corner to do crafts and use my computer on. I love it. But that will be next week’s project.

I still need to clean off my dresser, my bookcase, and the shelf that goes around the room. I also plan to move my bed and vacuum underneath there as I’m sure it’s a spider refuge.

I’m finally reading again as it seems it’s the only thing I can carve time for. I’m splitting up my time between audio and hardback. I figured out that if I only read the hardback, I will never get through the book as there just isn’t enough time to only focus on the book. Audiobooks help me multitask. I wish I had more time to just read, but it never seems to work out that way anymore.

Anyways, I’m off to go read and try to stay up for the next few hours so that I am not dead tired at work tomorrow night.
